Purple Line Extension | Best because: underground subway poses unique challenges as tunneling occurs adjacent to the La Brea Tar Pits | Client: Skanska Traylor Shea JV | Completion Status: Ongoing

Kramer Junction | Best because: an aggressive production schedule on this remote project includes more than 100,000 cubic yards of concrete paving by providing an on-site testing lab | Client: Kiewit | Completion Status: Ongoing

Route 5, Castaic | Best because: being constructed utilizing Rapid Set Concrete (RSC), which allows traffic activity within two hours of placement | Client: Atkinson | Completion Status: Ongoing

San Gabriel Trench | Best because: unique trench project consisted of a series of four grade separations that lower the Union Pacific Railroad track while keeping surface streets at grade | Client: Jacobs | Completion Status: June 2018

Elk Grove Civic Center | Best because: more than a decade in the making and delayed by the 2008 recession, construction is finally wrapping up on this LEED Platinum project, which serves Elk Grovians with an aquatic center, veteran’s hall, and senior/community center | Client: Roebbelen Construction | Completion Status: Ongoing

North Valley Regional Recycled Water Program | Best because: developed specifically to bring water to almond growers and other farmers in the local area who were suffering from water shortages and high-priced water | Client: Myers-Rados JV | Completion Status: Ongoing
